10:45(1h) Qing-shui Cliff 清水斷崖
Qingshui Cliff, located on the section of the Suao-Hualien Highway that stretches between Heping and Chongde stations, is one of the most spectacular sights on Taiwan's Pacific coast. The cliff is more than 1,000 meters high and drops almost vertically into the sea. The highway snakes along its curving face more than 20 kilometers, with the sheer cliff rising on one side and a sheer drop to the ocean on the other.

13:30(1.5h) Mountain-Moon Bridge 山月吊橋
Visitors arrive to the Buluowan Suspension Bridge by following the trail adjacent to the Buluowan Idas Hall. At a length of 196 m, a width of 2.5 m, and crossing the Liwu Valley at a height of about 152 m, the Buluowan Suspension Bridge is the longest and highest bridge in Taroko National Park. From the bridge, viewers can observe from above the twists and turns of the Liwu River that, flanked by the steep walls of the gorge, form a magnificent cascade of overlapping layers with a view that extends all the way from the gorge to faraway mountains.
15:30(2h) Tunnel of Nine Turns 九曲洞
The 1,220m-long Tunnel of Nine Turns (Jiuqudong) Tunnel is the longest tunnel of the Central Cross-Island Highway, while the 700 meters long Tunnel of Nine Turns (Jiuqudong) Trail is the best part of Taroko Gorge. The trail snuggles against the tall mountain and deep gorge. If you look down, you will see Liwu River gushing swiftly past the mountain walls facing each other so closely. You will be astonished at the craftsmanship of nature that has created these treacherous terrains.
Baiyang Waterfalls Trail 白楊步道
The Baiyang Waterfall Trail is characterized by the number of tunnels. Beginning with the entrance tunnel of 380 meters (by the Central Cross-Island Highway 900 meters west of Tianxiang) to the last tunnel before Water Curtain, you will pass through eight tunnels along the 2.1 kilometer trail ( the 4.2 km round trip will take about one hour and a half)

Hollywood is also enthralled by the beauty of the East Coast! The sea cave in Shimen Banshaojiao Recreation Area was the set for a movie. Its Heart Cave, Mochi Cave, and other unique features as well as the thrilling splashes from the sea will blow your mind away.
16:00 Hualien Tourism Sugar Factory 光復糖廠
Next to the Hualien Sugar Factory are Japanese-style bungalows, organized in neat rows. Large-scale Japanese-style buildings like these are very rare in Taiwan. These residences, made of Chinese cypress, were built for the factory employees during the Japanese occupation. For many, these well-preserved old buildings create feelings of nostalgia.

The park features the “3-in-1” circular model pioneered in Asia by Heping Power Plant. The model includes solar PV as installation art, the music fountain as the rainwater harvest system, the “One Hundred Pineapple Garden” where over 100 spices of pineapples are grown, and the indigenous marketplace. The Heping (Peace) Flower at the entrance is Taiwan’s first large outdoor solar PV installation art. Taiwan Cement DAKA Park combines water dance show, glasshouse Starbucks, integrated 7-ELEVEN, marketplace, as well as Taiwan’s first Starbucks in a cement works.

Yilan Park of National Center for Traditional Arts
This new 24-hectare facility is located beside beautiful Dongshan River in Yilan.
